Set in the near future, somewhere in deserts of Australia where the roads are under constant danger from gangs of bikers. Max is officer in police unit that intercepts the criminals on the highways leading towards the desert. After catching the man called Nightrider the officers have to face the anger of the gangs. For Max it will be a tough challenge since he has to protect his family.

Classic science fiction movie made with limited budget and very limited potential. Simple story of policeman, who is put in difficult position when his family is in danger. It wasnít a masterpiece back then and still isnít today, but this movie led to further sequels that became classics of the genre.
