In year 2077 the Earth was in ruins after devastating war against invader from outer space. The whole surviving human kind have relocated to colonies on Titan, moon of Saturn. Nevertheless the natural resources from Earth are vital for further growth, so small detachments of drones are guarding the towers, located well above the ground, that are excavating the resources from Earth. To make the whole thing running smoothly the towers are manned with controllers and technicians, who oversee the whole project. Tech 49 Jack Harper and his partner and lover Victoria Olsen are serving on Tower 49.
Despite having his memory wiped, Jack experiences strange visions of being on the observation deck of the Empire State Building before the war with an unknown woman. Jack detects a signal emitted from the Empire State Building that is sending coordinates on Earth. When Jack arrives to the given coordinates he withnesses a crash of spacecraft, the Odyssey. Among the remains of the Odyssey he finds the stasis chambers. Soon one of the drones arrives and starts to shoot the chambers. Jack is able to rescue one of the survivors - a woman he saw in his visions...
Sci fi movie based on comic books from Joseph Kosinski, who also directed Oblivion. Interesting plot, bit of mystery and fast action scenes are the strong sides of this movie. The main character, who got used to the world around him now has to face the completely new reality.
