Plan 9 From Outer Space 1959 science fiction film

Running time: 80 minutes

Language: English

After a funeral of a woman two gravediggers are attacked by a female zombie. Soon after pilots of passenger plane flying nearby are blinded by strong light from a flying saucer, which suddenly appeared in the vicinity. Pilot of that airplane, Jeff Trent, lives with his wife Paula in a house near the graveyard, where police begins the investigation into death of the gravediggers, whose bodies were discovered during another funeral. Despite the darkness and strange noise that was heard nearby Inspector Clay sets out into the twilight to investigate, but stumbles upon the female zombie that killed the gravediggers and zombie of old man, who was buried just hours ago. From that point the reports about the flying saucers, strange lights and noises begin to increase in the whole Hollywood area. Three of the saucers are spotted over Hollywood Boulevard and special army unit opens fire to them. Chief of Saucer Operations in charge of the attack is disappointed that their missiles do not seem to have much effect and reveals that this is not the first time the aliens have contacted human kind.

Masterpiece of Edwoodian entertainment - really, really, really low-budget production on the verge between horror and sci-fi, but just like anything that was written or directed by Ed Wood Jr it is also on a verge of being a comedy. Poor script, poor acting, poor directing and cardboard props make this film a real challenge for the viewers not used to Ed Wood Jr style. It is a must-see position, but for completely different reasons than usual - it is a bottom of the bottom when it comes to sci-fi.
