The Andromeda Strain 1971 science fiction film

Running time: 130 minutes

Language: English

When the small town in New Mexico looks completely deserted in fact all of the residents are dead in their homes or in the streets. The government sends the team of scientists to explore the area, they find that the people must have died very quickly, but none of them has any signs of violence. Soon they discover the reason behind it - the blood inside their veins turned into dust-like substance.

When the team prepares to leave the town they find two survivors of what has happened - a young child and scruffy looking old man. They take them both to the secret laboratory facility somewhere in the desert, where team of experts can determine the cause of the deaths. Their prime suspect becomes military satelite that crashed near the town.

Science fiction thriller based on Michael Crichton’s novel is one of the best in its category - with high realism it depicts what may happen in the case of landing of some alien microbe in our environment. The movie is both realistic and entertaining.
